How painting can heal you.

During these tough times in which we haven't been free to live our lives to the fullest, where our plans have been postponed, our routine has completely changed and we weren't able to travel, to go to concerts, to the theatre, to meet our family, to go out for a pizza or to go to a mall with our friends, it's only when your routine changes and you are alone with yourself that you start thinking about what to do during your free time!

Creativity in every form can allow you to keep your mind strong and to tackle a stressful time, as the Covid pandemic has been!

Being creative, is the perfect way to escape from the news, the numbers of CoVid patients that the TV fills us all up every single day.

It's free, it's healing and it saves you without knowing!

You don't need to go out of your house, but still, you can create landscapes, existent natural places, or magical scenarios only evading with your brain. Put on some music and let the creativity that is in you inspire you and lead you to a peaceful mindset.

Creativity can save you,

creativity can bring joy to your grey afternoons,

Creativity can make you happy,

Creativity is the best way to fill up your daily routine!

Are you creative? Do you have a hobby? Sure you do! You all have a creative soul, you just need to explore it! Dance, sing, write or paint, each of these hobbies can bring you happiness without being aware of it.

This last year has been kind of tough for everyone, all over the world. While we were in a lockdown, I spent my afternoons with a canvas and some brushes in my hands, and my day got brightened!

I have been painting for ten years now, but I've never realized how painting can really heal you, can relax you, can relieve you, can change your humor!

Painting allows you to calm your inner peace, to let go of all the problems during the day, to drive away negative thoughts. You need some inspiration to create something beautiful, a landscape, a portrait, a still life, an abstract image...it motivates you, it brings you joy!

Even if you are a beginner, it doesn't matter! Get started! There's no right or wrong in panting, whatever it is it expresses your feelings and gives emotions to the viewer.

Get a canvas, a drawing sheet, and some brushes with colors, and start painting! You won't know how creativity can heal your soul, relax your mind, and can change your life!

"Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life."

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
