The younger voting block has undergone extreme change since the last election cycle. Before, even if we recognized something was ethically or morally wrong, our response tended to be apathy instead of outrage. Instead of attacking and restructuring a system we knew to be corrupt, we were more inclined to ignore it, resolved to believe it could never be fixed. That was how I felt before Trump came along.
He hit me like a freight train like I'm sure he hit a lot of you as well. Finally! I thought. Someone with the balls and insight to attack the system despite all criticism against him. I think he rejuvenated a lot of us, and encouraged us to become more engaged and involved. Our generation became more “red-pilled”—more enlightened, more free-thinking, creative, and diligent—after Trump, because we realized we could fix the system.
This is why our generation is destined to save the world. It is because we understand the new media, whether we agree with it or not. First it was advertised to us, then directed to us, and in many cases, FORCED on us. But now? It works FOR us. Technology has reached the tipping point between freedom of speech and censorship. Twitter has become politicized, while we have single handily shifted Reddit from an SJW haven to at least having several transformative sub-reddits that appreciate the 1st Amendment, such as RedPill. Having been surrounded by technology all our lives, we KNOW what should be acceptable, we know the limits of free speech, and we know censorship when we see it. We don't need 55 yr old SJW feminazis, cuckservatives, government officials, or (Saudi-owned) Twitter to tell us where those lines should be.
This is why we’ve seen the rise of Gab.ai and the spread of Wikileaks info like wildfire, through the media sphere. We see Hillary Clinton having the gall to attack Pepe the Frog—a meme—as a symbol of white supremacy. This same meme has now been added to the Anti-Defamation League’s database of hate symbols.
They DONT understand us because they don't understand technology. They have no idea what a meme is, or how creative and unique each Pepe is. But his alpha male mentality, twitter wars, and his campaign to gut political correctness type style, would make one assume he is PRO-1st Amendment. He was a match made in heaven for 4chan and for the pro-liberty Ron Paul, Alex Jones and pissed off conservatives, independents and democrats on Reddit to unite under one cause. The narrative on Twitter has changed, too, very much in part to writers like Milo Yiannopoulos the self-proclaimed “Dangerous F****t”, a tech writer for Breitbart who’s been banned for his opinions, and Paul Joseph Watson, a hilariously blunt British correspondent for Infowars. To put it simply, Milo and Trump are fighting the same war. This takes us to the issue of journalism. When mainstream journalists start acting "ethical" and writing "fair" articles again—when they stop pushing the narrative, and instead focus on the facts—when they stop virtue signaling and start reporting—their work should be widely shared. Take Jake Novak's CNBC piece on Trump last week. Jake Novak isn’t by any means a supporter, but is still capable of being a journalist. As the consumers of media, we need to encourage this type of work from the mainstream media.
Luckily, we are THE generation who can make sure that this corruption, both in the media, and in our government, shrinks, rather than grows. It is why there are millennial
After Berners and Rand Paul disciples who are united with the GOP in support of Trump and Milo and their fight against political correctness and censorship. R/The_Donald has not only MEMED Mr. Donald J. Trump to the Presidency; we have also weaponized facts, news, and information against a woman who sold our country down the river and bought the entire Old Media to cover it up.. Our generation will be the one to create an ONLINE BILL OF RIGHTS to preserve free speech in this new technology, and to fight for the right to be heard uncut, uncensored, and unafraid of political recourse. Our millennial generation will save the United States, maybe the world, from itself, starting with this one election cycle, where our choice is between the tyranny of politics as usual, and the hard-won freedom our ancestors have struggled to protect. Can we affect world peace and poverty? I wouldn't bet against it.
