How Our Dogs Show Us Love

They love us just as much as we love them, if not more.

How Our Dogs Show Us Love
Gossip Katta

If you're anything like me, your fur baby means the world to you. You tell them where you are going when you leave the house and you jump out of the car when you get home so you can see them just a second faster. We love them as if they are our children, and they love us just as much, if not more, in return. From letting out some pee when we first get home to licking our arms randomly, our dogs love to show us affection. Here are just a few ways dogs show us they love us:

1. They try to hug you

There are many dog owners who try to train their dogs not to jump on people. And hey, I get it. We definitely don't want our dogs to jump on people and hurt them. However, mostly they jump up (if they are nice) because they are excited and want to love on you. In our house, we call it dancing.

2. They try to share food with you so maybe you will share food with them

Dogs tend to offer you dog chow in hopes that maybe you will drop a crumb or two for them. Sometimes, they get a little greedy and don't even offer their food to you but instead give you those irresistible eyes!

3. They try to understand you by making eye contact, unless they are in trouble, of course

When babies make eye contact with their mothers, oxytocin is released, otherwise known as the love hormone. This can also be released when dogs connect eyes with their loved ones. But of course, don't just stare at your dog. That's weird for anyone.

4. When they wag their tails so hard that you think they might start to fly away

We are talking about the kind of tail wag where their entire butts move. Their tails start to swing back and forth and sometimes even in circles! We know they are happy or excited when they start to look like little helicopters.

5. They smile at us

There has been some research about how dogs may show emotions like humans do, so it is possible that our fur babies are smiling at us because they are happy or excited! And honestly, who can resist their little crooked teeth?

6. They cuddle with us

Again, this is something that could be in their blood to do. Wolves snuggle up to each other while sleeping in the wild. They love us and want to cuddle up to us for comfort and even warmth.

7. They recognize us

It doesn't seem to matter how long we have been apart, our fur baby always seems to remember us. If we have only been gone for a few hours, they act as if we have been gone for years, but it never gets old. They are the best greeters we have!I

8. They follow us everywhere

And I mean everywhere. Many dogs will follow their owners around, even in circles, because they want to be where their "parent" is. You know your fur baby loves you when they want to follow you into the bathroom, of all places. They never seem to want to be separated from us . . . why else are they called loyal pets?

9. They give us kisses

Dogs may lick us to show they aren't threatening or that they love us, as they would lick their puppies. Some people are grossed out when a dog licks them, but why? That's a way they show love! Our poor babies just don't realize how much their breath can smell!

10. They sit on our feet

Our fur babies sit on our feet to show that we are theirs, which is kind of cute if you ask me. Plus, my feet never get cold since my 15-pound baby is usually sitting or laying on them.

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
