To the most amazing parents:

Thank you. Thank you for providing everything I’ve ever needed and more for the last 19 years. I’m so grateful for everything you’ve given me and everything you’ve taught me.

Thank you for constantly putting me first no matter where we are, what’s going on, or how it's affecting you.

Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Even though I’ve gotten on your nerves way too many times, you have never loved me any less.

Thank you for giving me two pretty little sisters (I still want brothers but the girls are OK too).

Thank you for staying up late worrying about me every single time I go out.

Thank you for making my lunch every night and doing my laundry until I graduated high school.

Thank you for always believing in me. You have always taught me that I can do anything I want in life and to never give up on my goals. Because of you, I pour everything I have into my dreams and I’m not afraid to chase them. You have taught me not to hold back and focus on the things I want most.

Thank you for supporting me no matter what. I remember how scared you guys were when I told you I wanted to transfer colleges but you trusted me to make the right decision.

Thank you for putting me in karate and giving me an outlet to express myself. You came to every class and you never missed a tournament. While my friends were hanging out on the weekends, I was training and even though it was frustrating, I fell in love with the sport and it made me the person I am today.

Thank you, dad, for showing me how to look for the good in everyone around me. My entire life you have taught me to never give up on people. From you, I learned to never live my life regretting anything I didn't do.

Thank you, mom, for always looking out for me. You can always spot a bad friend from a mile away and you never fail to warn me. You and dad consistently try your best to protect me from people who will hurt me and I can't thank you enough for that.

Thank you for giving me everything I could possibly want. You both work so hard to provide me with the best and you never complain. You go over the top every christmas and birthday to make sure it’s so special when you really don't need to (but it is always nice and appreciated!).

Thank you for instilling a hard work ethic in me. You make sure I deserve everything you give me and you’ve taught me to work hard for the life I want. I don’t know where I would be if you never showed me the importance of being determined and motivated everyday. Thank you for constantly pushing me to be become the best version of myself.

Thank you for keeping me grounded. Thank you for setting boundaries and not letting me do whatever I wanted.

Thank you for not letting me get away with everything and making me own up to my mistakes. Thank you for teaching me the importance of saying "sorry."

Thank you for showing me how to love. I hope one day I can love someone as much you love each other and as much as you love me.

I know there are a million reasons why I need to thank you, but the most important one is for being you. You’re both so passionate, kind-hearted, and loving. You have always had my back and wanted the best for me. I’m incredibly lucky to have you as my parents, so thank you. I love you both so much.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
