My absolute favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. While I know this is being put out a week early, I am writing it now because I am overwhelmed with excitement for next Thursday. Thanksgiving just has such a great sense of warmth and togetherness, and it is one holiday where I see so much of my family and friends. We have longstanding traditions at my great uncle's house to which we travel every year for feasting, fun, and football. Here is the Roscoe Family Thanksgiving Day schedule told in gifs...
1. Waking up with the thought of all the food you're going to force inside of you today:
2. Going to Thanksgiving church and feeling bad for thinking more about food than God (sorry, thanks will be given but...)
3. Getting changed into comfy clothes after church and being thankful your family won't judge.
4. Getting to my family's house and greeting everyone you haven't seen in like a year (or not).
5. Eating appetizers, realizing you're about to eat so much food later, and not caring anyways.
11. (This one's a trademark for our family and probably weird to you) The skits, which is usually lots of songs, funny talents, and stories (with that order going up by ages) showcased to the family. I always come up with something fantastic the day of, a job that occupies my time after dinner as the old people nap.
12. The loopiness that sets in resulting from tiredness and too much food and drink.
13. The card games and leftover turkey sandwiches at 1am to end the night.
This is the way my fam does Thanksgiving. How do you celebrate and give thanks?
