How To Be A Morning Person

Let's face it- waking up early sucks. For whatever reason, it's almost painful to get out of bed each morning no matter what time it is. But for many people including myself, sleeping in too late feels like a waste of a day and I have no motivation to conquer what lies ahead of me. So here are three simple things you can do if you want your days to be more productive and to be up and at 'em at an early hour:

1. Create a sleeping schedule.

You don't have to go to bed early in order to wake up early. Instead, just go to bed at about the same time every night. Different people need different amounts of sleep, but for the most part, your body will get used to rising earlier if you just set a time to go to sleep every night and if you get the same amount of sleep each night.

2. Set a goal for yourself.

Before going to bed, create a plan for the next morning. Plan out what kind of breakfast you're gonna make, if you'll read a book or check social media in bed, if you're gonna go to the gym, if you'll make yourself coffee or tea, etc. Whatever it may be, you'll be much more excited about waking up if you can get yourself pumped for something.

3. Watch the sunrise.

I know not all of us wake up early just for fun. Some of us have work or classes to get to. However, all of us are capable of taking a few minutes to watch the sun come up. In the winter, the sun rises later so you don't have to wake up earlier than 7:20 to witness a breath taking experience. Trust me, watching the sun come up will brighten your morning and make you a little more grateful for the day.

Being a morning person doesn't have to be difficult. The hardest part is forming new habits, but once you do that, you'll find waking up early to be an easy thing and you'll wonder why you ever thought it was a good idea to sleep in until noon.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
