After watching the entire series of "How I Met Your Mother" ("HIMYM"), for the fifth time, I realized that no matter who you are, you can relate to it. I like to think of "HIMYM" as the modern day "Friends." So no matter what ethnicity you are, no matter where you're from, no matter how old you are, you can relate your friend group to "HIMYM" and here is why:

From their little quirks to their complete personality, someone you are friends with fits the character's persona. For those who have not watched "HIMYM," here are the characters and my perspectives of them:

Robin- The girl from out of town that automatically fits into the group. She is the tomboy but finds herself having more feelings than she thought she had. She is passionate about her friends and her career, and nothing will get in the way of her dreams. In a way she is hard headed, but when she finds someone that can put up with her, she learns how to put up with them.

Barney- Barney is the outgoing one. The attention getting, humorous, sarcastic, sometimes dirty friend that always wants to have a good time. He usually is not taken seriously until it is something he is very passionate about. Like Robin, they keep their feelings to themselves because they see themselves as different than the others. But when the time comes, their feelings are unleashed.

Ted- Ted is the romantic. He thinks that every person he dates has the capabilities to be the one. With that being said, he is very dedicated and passionate in his relationships. But as time goes on, he comes to realize who he truly is and that all this time he has been selling himself short of what he really deserves. He works hard and is a great leader, but in the end he puts everyone else's happiness before his own.

Lilly- The girl that believes in signs from the universe. She is the hopeful one who loves to support her friends. She is also really bad at keeping secrets, but can read everyone's expressions and feelings even if she just met them. No matter how small, she has the biggest of feelings and for how much effort she puts into her friends she holds them at the highest of standards.

Marshall- Marshall is the quirky, loving, talkative guy that wants to chase his dreams, be with his friends and show off his wife. No matter who he is friends with, he is in it for the long haul. For all the things he has gone through, he is strong and always knows how to support his friends and family.

Now ask yourself which one of your friends lines up with which character. If you can't figure it out, it's most likely you! No matter who you are and where you're from, we all have our groups, our squads and our crews that fit into their character plots. I hope everyone has friends like the characters in "HIMYM" because in all reality, everyone deserves a great group of friends. So go out there, get some dope high fives and find the people you need in your life.

And for those who have watched all of the seasons...

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
