How to Make a Mug Cake

When you first got to college, did you ever hearthe warning, “Don’t gain the freshman 15”? I know I was determined to eat healthy, so that that would not happen. This was made more difficult whenever I walked by the the patisserie at my school or when my roommate and I were first introduced to the wonders of Insomnia Cookies (seriously, the person who came up with a cookie place that delivers was a genius). Luckily, I soon found a recipe that satisfied my sweet craving and was extremely low calorie. (Only 80 to be exact.) How do you make this cake you ask? Well here is how.

Step 1: Gather all of the ingredients. This is a super simple step because all you need is a gallon sized Ziploc bag, a box of angel food cake mix, a box of a cake mix of any type that you desire, a spoon, a mug (or styrofoam cup if you hate doing dishes), water, and a microwave.

Step 2: Take the Ziploc bag and put the contents of both boxes of cake mix into the bag. You can then zip up the bag and mix it all around with your hand until evenly mixed up. This one bag will last you for months of cakes.

Step 3: Open up the bag and spoon three spoonfuls of the mix into your mug.

Step 4: Put two spoonfuls of water into the mug. (Add more if the cake appears too dry.)

Step 5: Stir up the mixture until almost all of the powder is gone.

Step 6: Place the mug into the microwave for one minute.

Step 7: Take the cake out of the microwave and enjoy.

For extra fun, you can add chocolate chips or fruit filling before you bake it, or you can add whipped cream on top for some extra sweetness. Now you will be able to satisfy your sweet tooth quickly, easily and deliciously.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
