I have a dream … and it's to get 1000 likes on Instagram. Here are some dos and donts for Instagram, and hopefully your next post will lead you to becoming “insta-famous" and get that double tap from your followers.
DOs
Use a filter- Hello beautiful, even though you are beautiful the way you are, a little editing and filter can add a little oomph to your picture. No filter is just not a thing anymore so add some highlights and play with the saturation a little bit (Tip: try using the free app “Afterlight")
Food Porn- It is a known fact that everyone loves food. Don't deny it. Seeing those food pics on Instagram definitely can make someone's mouth water and favorite without even thinking. This is one of the things you do not need a filter for.
Post a picture of you and your friends at an event - when your followers are seeing that you are having fun, they will feel the urge to like your picture. Whether it's at a party or at a concert, a quality going out picture can never go wrong.
Nature- Mother Nature can be your best friend; believe it or not, a lot of boys are actually really attracted to nature pictures, don't ask me why. Boys sometimes get tired of girls posting selfies, and just seeing the adventures that you go on can really get them to like your picture.
Senior portraits/ modeling pictures- add a little flare and show your Candice Swanepoel side to your followers. Who doesn't like to see a high quality and hot picture of you? Your followers follow you for a reason. (WARNING: get ready for those heart eyes and fire emojis on your comments)
DON'Ts
Post a selfie from Snapchat- Hey sis, the quality of that nap chat pic isn't that great, and that number 10 at the top right obviously shows that you screenshotted that S***. Use your front camera, snap chat is for snap chat, not Instagram. It's basically mixing Forever 21 with Gucci.
Post pictures of yourself- Props to you for being a confident human being but only posting pictures of yourself shows that you are self-centered, and where are your friends? Show us that you're having some fun! If your Instagram only consist of selfies then change a up a bit…we all know what your face looks like.
Post end of the year videos and collages- I personally wear glasses, so without a 20/20 vision no one can see those ant sized pictures. And honestly, those pictures in the videos are flipping through so fast; I am getting a headache from squinting my eyes. One quality picture is better than 12 mini sized ones.
Post blurry pictures- even though blurry pic means a great night, no one wants to like a picture where they can't see your face. You might as well delete that since you're probably the only person that knows where your eyes are in the picture.
TBT every Thursday- It's funny and cute once in a while but if you post a TBT every Thursday then it can get repetitive and annoying. We have all seen a similar picture from your TBT post so just save your time and post something that is new and fresh.
