1. They're always down for spontaneous fast food runs

No matter what time it is or how much homework both of you have, it's always a yes to get food. Nothing says friendship like getting a large Hazelnut Iced Coffee from McDonald's at 11PM.

2. They don't judge you when your life is a mess

Not everyone has their lives together and who better to know that than the person you've spent every day with this school year?

3. ...Or when your side of the room is as well

Sure, that week old ramen and overflowing trash can might not be what was meant when by the phrase "mi casa es su casa" but your roommate is willing to not just overlook the mess, but embrace it.

4. You laugh together

From inside jokes to the insane stuff you find funny when you two are both delusional during finals week, there will be numbers of laughs shared together.

5. And you cry together

When boys break your heart and finals get you so stressed to the point of tears, your roomie is already there with a box of tissues and a shoulder to cry on.

6. They encourage you to go out and have fun every once and a while

Instead of sitting in the dorm, shoveling ice cream in your mouth as you head into hour 8 of Netflix bingeing, they're going to push you to go out and let loose. Whether it be a night at the movies or a party with friends, getting out of the shoebox of a room is good for you and they know that!

7. ...And make you stay in when it's necessary

Your studies are the most important aspect of school. I mean, why would you be there if it wasn't? When you have fifteen assignments due at 12 that night and are contemplating going out anyways - they're going to make you stay in. It's good for you, it's healthy. Sometimes you need time to unwind, they will see when you're run down.

8. Saying "I missed you" when you saw each other 2 hours ago

My roommate and I see each other every single day, multiple times a day, and even have a class together, but we still find ourselves texting about how much we miss each other throughout the day. It's a problem, but it's a good problem to have.

9. Going grocery shopping together and splitting everything

Throwing foods you both like in the cart without regard to who is buying what because you guys are just going to eat everything - might as well just split it all!

10. You two do everything together

Whether it's showering at the same time in the community bathroom or hanging out with other friends, you two are there.

11. You're together so much people think you're a couple

Waitresses assume the check is together. Every. Time.

12. When you go somewhere alone, it's the weirdest thing ever

Being asked "Where's your roommate?" because you're a package deal

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
