How People and our environment create bad situations for you

How to keep your skin clear in 4 easy steps:

1: Make sure the products that you use to wash your skin, such as body gel, are completely scrubbed off before exiting the shower.

2. Drink lots of water! Not only will your skin thank you, but basically every other part of your body will as well--drinking water is basically a win-win situation.

3. Cut out toxic people: don't text them back, don't get coffee with them, don't even think about them. Toxic people=stress, and because you deserve more than having a few of them laying around, cut them out. Even if you're a type of person who values everyone's personal opinions about themselves (like me). Staying awake late at night is for Netflix binging, not stress over people who would not even think about putting themselves in such a giving position as you would. Sure, all relationships need work, but work is a two-way street and is definitely not a one-way street with someone holding eighty pounds of brick on their back, too.

4. Pay more attention to your diet: instead of having desert every meal, pick one meal to treat yourself. Salads may not taste the best, so find healthy alternates that fulfill your vitamin and health category. Or if you're like my mother, you'll find an obscure vegetable to bring to the dinner table. I have noticed that sometimes, not liking vegetables stems from not understanding how to cook them, so investing more time in this department could actually be more helpful

More importantly: acne or any kind of skin blemish does not make you ugly! It is a product of a multitude of factors that are beyond your control

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
