For Christians in particular, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year for many reasons. Personally, I hate the fact that the Christmas season is basically over. Sure, you still have the 12 days of Christmas, but all the stores have moved on to New Year’s and Valentine’s Day. It makes you miss the jingles and the silver bells of it all.
So how do you keep Christmas alive year-round?
1. Music
No one can stop you from listening to Christmas music all the time! It might be socially unacceptable, but not everyone can hear that you’re blasting “All I Want For Christmas is You” on your headphones in July. Just thrive, fam. Enjoy it!
2. Decorations
Some Christmas decorations can inconspicuously sneak into your general décor without the uninformed observer noticing. Golden tassels and white Christmas lights can fade into your aesthetic. But you’ll look at it and know—it’s always Christmas at your place.
3. Cooking
Who says peppermint-flavored everything is only for the Christmas season? Enjoy this feeling year-round with peppermint mocha creamers, peppermint cookies, and peppermint candies.
On the other hand, you can do the same with cranberries, eggnog, and gingerbread—you know, whatever floats your boat!
4. Christmas socks
Depending on what kind of shoes you’re wearing, you can get away with wearing Christmas socks whenever you want to! It can be your own jingle-bell secret.
5. Giving gifts
Who says it has to be a holiday or a birthday to celebrate your loved ones? Keep the Christmas spirit alive by making sure your joy for them is known.
6. Movies
Just because “Love Actually” is generally considered a Christmas movie does not mean you can’t watch it whenever you want to. Enjoy the fact that it, along with “The Holiday”, is considered just a good movie, even though you’ll know it’s also food for your Christmas-loving soul.
You can also start watching “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as soon as September—after all, it’s a Halloween and a Christmas movie.
7. Charity
Just because the holiday season is almost over does not mean you can’t dedicate your time and money to good causes. People are in need all year. Spread that Christmas cheer, even if you’re volunteering at a soup kitchen in March.
8. Loving Christ
After all, you can’t have Christmas without “Christ”. Love Him all the time with your mind, body, and soul, and you’ll feel that warmth and happiness in you as though it’s Christmas Eve every day.
