On my first night in Boston I was a nervous wreck. The thought of starting another year at school and getting back into the swing of exams, papers, and endless pages that needed reading and highlighting was unbelievably overwhelming. My stomach dropped as we took the exit into Cambridge, MA and I had to let out a nervous scream. I allow myself one panic scream per year and then I have to move on and change my attitude. But for some reason I could not shake that nervous panic feeling.
I went to my training for street team to move in freshman on that Saturday morning and had dinner with friends. I was looking forward to seeing the new movie called “The Hollars” at the Landmark Kendall Square Cinema across the river in Cambridge. John Krasinski-actor, director, and producer of the film was supposed to be there for a Q&A after the movie concluded. I knew that this movie and our time with John was going to be nothing short of fun and goofy, but I never expected to leave with a different outlook for the rest of my school year.
John went into detail about what it was like for him in his 20s and the struggles that he faced while making his way through college. He was in the same boat as me and wondering the same things that have been on my mind for months. I really connected to what he was saying.
