How To Handle Being Single (Again) For Valentine's Day

I hope that my next Valentine is the love of my life and I can look back on the single days and be happy that I chose to live them positively.

OK so it's happening again, the day is approaching.

The day where single girls everywhere meet their doom: Valentine's Day. On New Year's Eve you said "I'll have a date for Valentine's Day if it's the last thing I do!" And well, that didn't happen and here we are.

Single again on the most romantic day of the year. But this year I'm working on some serious self-love and positivity, so my plan for Valentine's Day is just like any other: doing whatever the hell I want and being insanely happy while doing it.

  1. Go to Starbucks and get the most highly-caffeinated/prettiest/most expensive drink they have… They can make it pink right?

  2. Go to work and serve people lunch all day and have a great time doing it. If there are couples eating together and holding hands I will allow myself one eye roll, ONE.

  3. Buy myself whatever chocolates I want a.k.a just peanut butter cups and Hershey's kisses, not those boxes of mystery chocolates that no one likes.

  4. Go home and take a way-too-long shower and lavish in the fact that I don't have to pay a water bill.

  5. Go out for Mexican with my two also-single roommates. We will make that pathetic obviously single AF three-person reservation and not be one bit sorry.

  6. Have a few too many margaritas, a vat of chips and salsa, and again, not be one bit sorry.

  7. Then we will go see "How to be Single" starring Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson for pointers on how to master our craft

  8. Go to bed at a decent hour, in a bed all to myself where I can spread out, snore, and kick in my dreams as much as I want.

Bottom line, I hope that this is the time of my life where I'm single and then that's it. I hope that my next Valentine is the love of my life and I can look back on the single days and be happy that I chose to live them positively.

We have the rest of our lives to get chocolates, jewelry, flowers and fancy dinners for Valentine's Day.

Those days will be great, but these days won't be bad either. So have some fun this Valentine's Day doing whatever the heck you want!
