Sometimes waking up is hard. You might be so tired and think, "this is going to be the worst day." So while your day, in general, might suck a little, here are some tips to ensure you have a good (or at least decent) morning.

1. Get a good night's sleep

It's probably going to be really difficult to have a good day if you are running on 3 hours of sleep. So make sure you get however much sleep you need for yourself to survive and not be in the worst mood of your life.

2. Wash your face

Washing your face can really help wake you up. Also, your face will feel clean and everybody loves a clean face.

3. Drink water

I do drink coffee or tea almost every day of my life, but I always drink water first. If I don't drink water I will end up feeling super dehydrated not even an hour later. And it's just a healthy thing. If you search things like "How To Be Healthy" on Pinterest I am sure most people will say, "drink water!" So overall, it's just a healthy habit.

4. Eat breakfast

You should definitely always try to eat something for breakfast, even if it is just a granola bar. You will feel better and you won't feel like you are about to die of starvation the hour before lunch.

5. Make time to ensure you have everything you need for the day

Getting your books and whatever else you need for your classes together before you go is really important. You might think you are having a good morning until you get to your Spanish class and realize your backpack is actually just empty. So I would strongly advise giving yourself a couple minutes in the morning to get everything together.

6. Listen to music

I listen to music every morning. Doing something I enjoy during a time I really don't want to be awake is essential for me if I want to make it through the day. But listen to something a cool and upbeat, not something sad or angry. Unless that's what really gets you going for the day.

So if you want to have an okay morning, I would recommend doing some if not all of these things. You might actually feel like you can get through the day. And that's a feeling we could all use.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
