Why Feminism Is Just Another Word For Equality

Stay resilient against the new government, speak your voice and stand up for those who may not have the courage to do so.

As of late, we have seen tremendous turn outs in the Women's Marches that took place all across the country. Washington D.C., New York City, Portland, Los Angeles---- we see everyone come together as one in fighting what this new presidency and its cohorts represents. Ignorance towards minorities. Ignorance towards environmental problems. Ignorance towards choice. Ignorance towards equality for all races, genders and sexualities.

Not only women, but men as well, marched along with the movement. Each person of all ages spurting out statements of love and want for just treatment we all are well deserving of. This current campaign has shown disregard for the American people and their well being. President Trump has built his campaign off of the belief of "Making America Great Again." But at what cost when things like global warming have been blamed on the Chinese. The soon to be repealed Affordable Care Act has no replacement plan set up. The LGBT page has been removed from the official White House website. You cannot silence the voices of those who need to be recognized. We as a people will fight and will continue to fight until there is major systematic change in our government and its recognition of Americans needs and respect .

"Respect My Existence or Expect My Resistance"

In this fine new year of 2017, we have fell back many decades in history where our nation's system chose someone who has multiple cases of sexual misconduct allegations. A man who has explicitly stated that if his own daughter wasn't his daughter that he would be dating her. A man who pokes fun at the disabilities of a man on national television. A man who flat out rejects the entire existence of global warming and its impact.

This all leads back to why feminism is something we all should support. Being a feminist means to be in support of all organizations and people in order to achieve political, social and economic equality. Yes. It is partly about achieving gender equality, but it is also about achieving that same goal of equal opportunity for all races, religions, and economic standings. We support Black Lives Matter. We support the LGBT community. We support Planned Parenthood. We support Gun Control. We support groups that cohesively bring together all people of different backgrounds. Feminism should be an ideology we all support just as casually as we would if we were asked if we want equality. All these groups are just as important and valid as any other belief and identity we each hold true to ourselves. Do not let Donald Trump, his Cabinet and this campaign silence you from speaking up for what is morally right. Minorities in this country will and should be represented at all costs. Defy what you think is wrong and let your voices be heard. Whether it be at rallies or at home speaking your stance on social media. Refuse to stay silent. Support feminism, support equality for all.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer.
