Fall; pumpkins, hot chocolate, and trees being lit up in beautiful colors. So it isn’t a surprise that Fall is one of the best seasons. The other seasons have their perks, there is no doubt about that. With spring everything is green and pretty, summer you can be outside 24/7 whether it is on the water or just sitting outside enjoying the sunshine, and winter it is white and peaceful especially during that first snow of the season. Fall though is by far the best, when else can you go walk through piles of leaves, smell the crisp fall air, or be able to wear as many layers as you want.
Fall means pumpkin everything; lattes, pies, bread and so much more. It also means you can break out all those warmer clothes that are sitting in the back of your closet. It means walking through campus and seeing all the trees in their fall colors, and walking through the leaves on the ground before they mow over them. It means football games, where the stadium is full and the energy is off the scale.
It means watching Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Harry Potter (all of these can be watched during the other seasons too). It means carving pumpkins and watching creepy movies around Halloween. And seeing all the little kids dressed to the nines as goblins, ghosts, and their favorite characters.
It is when you get to go run through corn mazes and pumpkin patches with your friends because it is that time of the year. It is the season that gives you the excuse to just sit outside in the cold because it hasn’t gotten to the point that you would freeze if you did. You get to enjoy being bundled up with multiple blankets without being sweltering hot or still being cold.
Fall is the best season, with some of the greatest holidays; Halloween with its free candy and the really excited kids, and Thanksgiving where you get to spend time with your family and celebrate what you have been thankful for all year. And I for one cannot wait for it to be in full bloom. So get out your flannels, go get your pumpkin spice lattes, put on some fuzzy socks and watch whatever your favorite fall movie or TV show is to get ready for one of the greatest seasons of all time.
