How Effective Is The Syrian Ceasefire?

Humanitarian aid to Syria's city of Aleppo seems to have been held up for yet 'another day' according to Al-Jazeera English. This event has caused the government as well as the rebels accusing one another of potentially trying to breach the U.S-Russia ceasefire. When noticing the tensions rise, Washington sent a statement to Moscow reassuring that military corporation with Syria will cease to exist if they do not provide proper aid to these besieged cities.

Despite this, aid for Syria's cities has not surpassed Turkey's borders for close to five days. A statement from the UN was released, accusing the Syrian government for lack of concern of getting the aid to be provided for their cities.

The president of Syria has not released any statements or anything for the matter, to justify yet another act of cruelty for the people in his country. No one knows why he did not place high importance on provided the Syrians aid. However, it could be seen as another example of his over-exercising his power in his country, to reinstate fear into the lives of hundreds of thousands of victims in the country.

When the aid was denied to the Syrians, tensions rose high and violent as well. Rebels violated ceasefire by 'shelling government-held areas', and wounding three people in the process. A statement has been released saying that resistance was expected, and they are not calling off the ceasefire. As tensions are running high after this event, it can be noticed that the ceasefire right now is very delicate. They are still unsure of how long the ceasefire will be able to stand. Worst case scenario would be that the ceasefire creates no progress for the safety of Syrians. What is unfortunte is that this may be a reality.

But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
