A simple guide to fashion for a music festival

When you are getting ready to go to a music festival, you have a lot of things on your mind, one of them being, fashion. Figuring out what to wear to a music festival is actually very hard so here is a little guide to the type of trends I love seeing at different music festivals.

1. Edgy

The edgy look is definitely a vibe. If you are looking for an outfit that makes you stand out and creates a statement with bold colors then this is definitely the look. It can be comfortable and inexpensive and you will definitely walk around feeling like a boss.

You can find outfits like these at cheap stores such as Forever 21 which is where everything in the above picture was purchased and the look can be completed with some simple jewelry and some combat boots. It's definitely the look you think of when you think "cool."

2. Boho

When I think of music festivals, I instantly think of bohemian fashion. It is a little bit more of a harder look to pull of but when you do, you look like you are thriving. It is also a little bit more of a flowy look which could definitely be a vibe.

But I definitely think that the boho look is more for the kind of person who is going to a music festival to walk around and chill in the back of the sets rather than the person who is trying to be in the center of a mosh pit.

3. Grungy

This look is more of a risk taker. When you wear this look, you are definitely putting yourself out there and making a statement. With the mix of dark colors and the more metallic look, you are forced to stand out but you will look very cool.

4. Comfortable but Cute.

This look is simple but very fun. It is very comfortable but you are still very fashionable and if you are trying to be in the center of the mosh pit the whole time and you only want to take small breaks to go eat or go to the bathroom then this look is definitely more the vibe.

When you are trying to just go at it in the center of the set, you definitely want to be comfortable and you want to be able to sweat it out so this is why this outfit is the perfect go to.

5. All-White

The all-black outfit is definitely a little bit more hidden and under the radar. If you are looking for a look that will not make a statement then the all black is the way to go. You can make it very casual or you can dress it up but you will never be the one to be found in the middle of the crown because there is nothing specific about your look that will attract attention.

This isn't a bad thing at all, in fact, this is one of my favorite looks because while you aren't attracting attention, you still look extremely cute and you are more of a shadow but a cute shadow and it all comes together with simple accessories and cool hairdo's.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
