That’s question on everyone’s mind this weekend, and rightfully so. After Frank Ocean failed to release his new album months ago people were already skeptical of the supposed release this last Saturday. And their skepticism came from the right place apparently because here we are, the weekend past, and no album in sight. So here’s 4 things Frank Ocean was probably doing this weekend while you freaked out about his album.

1. Blocked Twitter

And anything reminiscent of it. Or probably just threw out the internet because it has been unkind. Frank Ocean was trending on Twitter and certainly not with love and support pouring out of us fans. We felt hurt and betrayed by Frank once again. But I wouldn’t blame him if he ignored the internet forever after the disappointment and upset his “fans” dumped on him.

2. Probably laughed at us, a lot.

Yes we’re just devoted fans who want an album but things got a tad ridiculous this weekend. Some people creating conspiracy theories as to why the album isn’t out yet, others finding another unsubstantiated possible release date to look forward to (it’s November 13th by the way, so mark your calendar and pray to whatever it is you believe in). And while some of the comments fans made were just disappointment many were just plain hilarious. So I think it’s safe to say that whether it was at our fanaticism, our gullibility, or our own jokes about him, Frank was laughing heartily at us all this weekend.

3. Maybe... ate something? Hung out with friends?

I mean a guy’s gotta eat right? Even though his devoted fans are waiting on him to release an album or a statement or a sign of life. He’s probably just… chillin out. Maybe eating a nice meal with some friends, if they’re not mad about the album too that is. In the comfort of his own home of course, because going in public could prove to lead to some sort of affront from a fan.

4. Seriously probably anything other than thinking about this album

You guys do realize how crazy you’re we’re being about this right? Like this man is just trying to live his life, and he doesn’t owe us anything. And after you’re letting yourself build up all this hype and tension instead of just waiting for the album, it’s probably only going to seem ‘just okay’ anyway. I mean I’m sure it’ll be amazing because it’s Frank Ocean but you’re so invested in it without even hearing it you’re probably just going to be let down no matter how great it is. Have you considered maybe Frank Ocean is just trying to show you how invested you are in things that don’t affect your own life. You spent a whole day, or possibly even a whole weekend, upset about an album not being released, but how long do you spend being that emotionally and mentally invested in your own propulsion on a weekly basis. We should be thanking Frank Ocean for showing us what celebrity worship and attention is doing to our society.

But still, Frank… c’mon buddy, we were really counting on you.

We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
