It happens every year. The anticipation for spring break that seems to last weeks. All the preparation of planning and working hard on that spring break bod. Then all of sudden the week is already over. Just like that. You have to turn back to the reality of responsibility and priority. For those who travel it is really hard to get yourself back on track. Even if you do not take a vacation it becomes difficult to get your stuff together. Just a week is all it takes to be mentally checked out from classes and ready for a longer break: summer. So how does someone cope with getting themselves back into a routine..a.k.a. post spring break depression?
- 1. Plan your week. Make sure you plan your week ahead. Hopefully you already did most of your homework due back that week so you do not have to feel so overwhelmed.
- 2. Hydrate. After being exposed to decent weather and some sun, you are most likely going to need more liquids..most likely water.
- 3. Mentally prepare. Take a few minutes to realize that this week is going to absolutely suck. Having to get up early again to make it to class and comprehend new lessons may be a total loss for some people.
- 4. Naps…I do not know about you, but naps are my favorite. It is an easy quick way to make yourself think you are getting more sleep than you actually are.
- 5. Remember to go back to paying attention to your health. For many, spring break is filled with zero working out and multiple trips to McDonald's. I mean who could really blame someone for wanting a quick on-the-go meal? Just remember when you come back to school, it is good to get back on track with normal exercising and eating habits.
Coming back from any vacation is always difficult. Coming back to college after a vacation is about ten times more difficult, but we all have to do it. Just think, after spring break the rest of the semester is going to fly by. All you have to do is push yourself to get back on your normal schedule after a crazy week full of shenanigans.
