Who are we?
We are supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave.
That's America's coin, right?
All I see are bundles of people not wanting others to be free because they are incompetent of being anything less than afraid.
Trembling because they don't see why difference is necessary.
Spewing hatred because their hearts can not digest the simple idea of humanity.
Claiming "they" should go back home, when America wasn't originally yours either.
Acting shocked that America is a complex melting pot of color and beauty.
It always has been.
These people that you refer to as "they" have names.
They have birthday's and stories that I'm sure they would willingly share with you if you took the time to listen.
They have homes in Kansas and Georgia that I'm sure they would gladly open the door and welcome you in if you asked.
They have hobbies and love being involved in activities that they would surely show you if you looked.
And guess what?
They are human.
They breathe.
They love.
They feel.
They cry.
They laugh.
Just like you.
And they belong here.
Just. Like. You.
