1. Don’t spend tons of money on a plane ticket or hotel

There are so many places out there that were made for spring break- yes, Cabo isn’t the only place that knows how to have a good time. Try to go somewhere that isn’t going to cost you a fortune to get to, so that when you do get there, you can spend all your money on exploring, trying new things and good food and drinks!

2. Go with people who you know you won’t get tired of

Imagine being stuck on an island with a bunch of people you can’t stand and call THAT your spring break. If you know that your one friend is super high maintenance or is known to cause drama, steer clear. The best travel buddies are the ones that are down for anything, ready to have a good time and not concerned with picking fights.

3. Get off that phone

Social media is made for self-comparison. Just because you see girls from your school posting all over Instagram about how great their trip is, it doesn’t mean they are having any more fun than you are. So put away that phone and don’t be concerned with other people’s trips because being present will make your time so much more worth it.

4. Wear sunscreen and don’t forget to reapply

This may seem obvious, but if you’re like me and hibernate all winter, you may be lacking a little tan. Getting a sunburn not only hurts, but it can make you uncomfortable and self-conscious all trip. Do yourself a favor and don’t forget the SPF!

5. Prep your bathing suit collection

Let’s be real- if you’re going somewhere warm for spring break, you’re going to want to spend all your time in a bathing suit! Make sure that you get a solid stash of bathing suits that you feel comfortable in before you start packing for your trip. Spring break is about having fun and the last thing you want is to be feeling insecure about how you feel in a bathing suit.

6. Sleep, nap and then sleep some more

Spring break is made for relaxation and rejuvenation before the final stretch of the school year. Don’t overbook yourself and make sure you have plenty of time to chill before going back to school.

7. Be smart

With easy access to piña coladas and cute boys, there’s always a possibility that things could get a little wild. Have your fun night out and flirt with that cute boy- but be smart about it! For every alcoholic beverage, drink one glass of water and make sure you don’t let Chad from Apple Pie Delta take you away from having a blast with your friends!

There’s no break quite like spring break- so have your wild nights out, your crazy explorations and make tons of memories with the people you love. Be smart, prepare, relax and enjoy!!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
