Do you remember when you were younger and you couldn't wait to become an adult? You couldn't wait to stay out all night, go where you wanted to go when you wanted to go. You couldn't wait to have your own space and maybe even have your own space. Well, with adulthood comes bills, work to pay for those bills, responsibilities to take care of your place, take care of yourself, and keep your loved ones from going crazy with worry about you. You might have loved ones whom you are responsible for, also. All of that sounded like it would be fun to do when you were younger. It was a thrill, just to learn how to drive. It's still cool to be an adult, but it's also a big juggling act.

For now, your might just be juggling school, work, your family and a maybe a significant other. Life gets more complicated as time goes on, but you have a lot on your plate when you are in school and working. School is a big deal, because your education and work ethic will give you the skills that you need now and later in life. You might not even end up with a job that's remotely connected to your major, but the all of the stress and pressure that you learn to overcome while keeping your grades up, is grooming you into a go-getter for the world out there. I personally believe that it's great to work while you are in school, because you get a sense of fulfillment from earning your own money. You learn how to work with others, and you learn how make a living and manage your money.

Don't forget to have fun, and don't have too much fun. Maybe that's the secret to balancing it all. Have fun, but still remember that you have a job to do. You have a future to build. You might even have people depending on you. So, sneak in some fun here and there, but not the kind of fun that you'd regret later. Go to the movies. Go on a short trip. Go to the club (if you are legal). Exercise and go to the doctor and the dentist. Pray, go to your place of worship, meditate, or simply have and keep your personal faith. The key to life is about balancing and taking care of yourself, physically, spiritually, and mentally.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
