Letter To Myself...

How Bad Do You Want It?

Dear Self,

How bad do you want itself? How bad you really want to be successful in your own right, self? Is your success worth losing sleep over? Are you really in this? Self, wake up! Please do not get caught up in the fairytale lifestyle, Walt Disney did not write your destiny if you do not take action things will not be happily ever after for you! You have to get up and go get what you want, nothing is going to be given too easily.

You basically have to just go and grab what you want right now in life and never let go. Nobody is going to go out and get your dreams for you but you. As much as your parents, sibling, friends and family love you and want you to be successful, you have to go get it for yourself! Give yourself the green light in life, don't sit there and wait for somebody to give it to you!

"When you get to the point where all you want to do is be successful as bad as you want to breathe then you'll be successful"

Is your heart really in your success? You can do anything you set your mind to, you just have to want it! Find that drive find that hunger and go get what is yours. Even when you feel like you've done enough do a little more. Try even harder go above what you're capable self, push yourself to every limit you have and once you reach that limit push even harder! You are going to have to be willing to lose somethings in order to gain all that you want. And that's perfectly fine let old unneeded baggage go, create a clean slate for yourself and GO! Go get what you want, get your hearts desires whose really stopping you self?

Self if all else fails remember the bible says "Eyes have not seen nor ear have heard the things God has prepared for those who love him." Keep God first and let him lead and guide you, trust and love him! Well, how do you trust him? How do you let him lead and guide you to your destiny? Right? I know that's what you're thinking but you start with prayer. Thank God for all the blessings he's already given you, thank him for all of the hurt and the pain that he's allowed you to go through. Always thank God for loving you unconditionally and keeping you! Ask him to order your steps into his will for you, ask that you be decreased and he be increased in you all times. Most importantly just seek him!

Love,

...Self

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
