For many years now, YouTube has been a huge part of my life. As a kid, I watched AMVs (anime music videos) and personalities like FRED. Yeah, that was the classic YouTube. Now the broadcasting platform is transforming itself into a multi-million dollar business.
Many famous YouTubers today have admitted that they first used this platform because it was easy, and they had no idea they would make money from it one day. Tyler Oakley even said he did YouTube to make videos for his friends because he was in college. I even did YouTube with friends during my early high school years which is another topic for another article. I wanted to write about someone who changed my life for the better. Because of him, I realized how much YouTube has become such a big part of me. He goes by the username "Markiplier."
Markiplier, or Mark Fischbach, is a Let's Player on YouTube. That means he plays video games for a living, and he is well-known for playing horror games, especially the Five Nights at Freddy's series. However, he does more than that. He does sketches, collaborations, and he even sings! He often does silly, random videos like his "MEOW" video which actually went viral.
What I love about Mark is that he truly cares about his fans. Every time he hits a milestone, he always makes a video to thank his fans. There is even a channel on YouTube that put fan milestone videos for him. Mark also does streaming charity events where he will pick a charity and stream a let's play while people donate. He is very big on the charity work and giving back to others.
Mark will often make vlogs to remind people that life is going to be okay. To be honest, I have been subscribed to Markplier for over a year now when he had seven million subscribers. He now has 14 million subscribers. He has one the of the fastest growing channels on YouTube, and he deserves it. I first saw in a FineBros's "YouTubers React To" and I just found him charming. I started watching his Five Nights at Freddy's videos, and I fell in love. I showed my friends his videos, and they found him hilarious. My current roommate and I even watch his videos together. He is just so likable.
Markiplier is just so down-to-earth and silly. He also does not care what other people care about him, and he truly cares about people. I hope to meet him one day just to say thank you. I wish to thank him for making such a positive impact on my life and for being an inspiration to me. When ever I am down, I just watch one of his videos. I know he will always be there for me, even though he does not know it.
Thank you, Mark. Thank you.
