Why House MD Is Still A Great Show

I've been watching episodes of "House MD" while taking study breaks during finals week. I've already seen every episode, so I don't have to watch it and focus on the plot too heavily. While I was re-watching it, I remembered why this show is so good.

1. Most of the diseases are rare and mysterious

Each episode starts out with the patient having symptoms that cause the team to think it is one thing, but it never is, and although you know it will end well, you still always wonder if the patient will make it.

2. It can be funny

Sometimes patients are in pain, but House can still sometimes manage to make jokes, even if they're offensive to the patient.

3. It shows that life isn't always fair

House got shot and lives in pain, and it shows good people and sometimes children contracting diseases that prove life isn't fair.

4. You wish he was your doctor

There is just something about the fact of who he is, kind of like Derek Shepherd from "Grey's Anatomy."

5. House isn't perfect

He's rude, manipulative, and sometimes arrogant, just like a real person he isn't perfect.

6. So many good one liners

The show is just full of hilarious one liners, how can you not love it.

7. Olivia Wilde

I have loved her since she was on the show and I still think she is a great actress.

8. House and Wilson's friendship

They're perfect best friends who usually keep each other in line.

9. House on Clinic duty

House always runs into someone who you feel like you would definitely meet in a free clinic.

10. House's Soap Operas

You can't help but laugh when you see someone on a medical drama show watching a medical drama show.

11. It's not Lupus

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
