The media has been blowing up with a lot of worth wild topics in the past week or so. Here is my list of Hot Topics in the news and on social media this week!

1. 27 Children Have Died From Being Left In Hot Cars

News broke today, August 13th, 2016, that a six month old boy died after being left in his fathers car for nine hours. The baby's father was on his way to work at the San Antonio Walmart in Texas, when he forgot to drop the baby off at day care. The baby had been left in the car for the period of his shift from 6:15 am to 3:09 pm Police and fire department personnel's attempts to revive the child had failed. The father is now in the hospital for emotional trauma but is cooperating fully with the police investigation. He is currently not facing any criminal charges. The death of this child marks 27 heat stroke by car related children deaths in 2016 so far.


2. Lindsay Lohan's Abusive Fiance

Early this week, social media exploded with a clip showing actress Lindsay Lohan being attacked by her fiance, Egor Tarabasov. Social media is going insane with anger after realizing this video was taken over a month ago, but is just now being talked about. People on social media are upset that this abuse is just being swept under the rug. Lohan had reported to the police before that Tarabasov had tried to strangle her to death a few months back. Lohan recently opened up about the abuse in a tell all interview stating "I realize now you can’t stay in a relationship just for love. No woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn’t prepared to say sorry.”


3. "Making A Murderer"

If you are a fan of Netflix's Original Series "Making a Murderer" you may have heard the recent news. Brendan Dassey, whose case is the subject of the Netflix series, conviction was overturned on Friday, August 12th, 2016, after a review of Dassey's original confession. It was found that the mean by which Dassey's confession was founded had been coerced and forced, violating the 16 year old's Fifth and 14th Amendment Right. Unless the state decides to retry the case with in 90 days from the 12th, Dassey becomes a free man.


4. Man Gets Two Obituaries

Leroy Bill Black passed away at 55 years old from lung cancer. He was a very loved man. So loved that he received two obituaries. One from his "loving wife" and one from his "long-[time] girlfriend". The two women knew about each other, but had opposing views on how the obituary should be written. This resulted in two obituaries showing the two lives Black lived. In the end their was no disputes at Blacks funeral.
