When you hear “it’s the most wonderful time of the year,” most people think of Christmas, snow, and Santa Claus. I am not most people. For me, the most wonderful time of the year is Halloween, walking through crunchy leaves, and trick-or-treaters or the doorstep. Better yet, the most wonderful time of the year is scaring the crap out of yourself with the massive amounts of horror movies binged watched around Halloween.

Carrie (1976)

Based on the Novel by Stephen King, Carrie White, played by Sissy Spacek, is a bullied teen with telekinetic powers. After facing abuse from her overprotective mother, and the kids at school, Carrie accepts an invite to prom where she attempts to let her guard down. Things go from bad to worse as Carrie's telekinetic powers take a dark, dramatic, and violent turn.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Sally, Franklin, and friends visit their late grandfather's grave after getting word that it had been vandalized. After finishing their investigation, the crew takes a quick detour to their family's old farmhouse. Bad idea, considering the group of cannibals living next door. Before you know it, the friends are being attacked by a man wearing a mask of human skin and carrying a chainsaw. The survivors must figure out how to escape in this classic horror film.

Halloween (1978)

Fifteen years after six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murdered his seventeen-year-old sister, the now twenty-one-year-old, escapes from prison and returns home to find his next victims.

The Conjuring (2013)

Paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren, go to the home of Carolyn and Roger Perron and their five daughters. The Perrons have recently moved into a farmhouse, where a supernatureal being is making its presence known. Events turn horrifying after the family learns of the macbre history of their new home.

Paranormal Activity (2007)

Katie Featherstone and Micah Sloat become disturbed by a supernatural presence, soon after moving into a new home. The couple sets up video cameras in the house, hoping to catch the activity, but are not prepared for what they get on film.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

In their dreams, Nancy Thompson and friends are tormented by a clawed killer, Freddy Krueger. When their dreams become reality, they must find a way to survive.

Children of the Corn (1984)

Based on the Stephen King novel, a young couple becomes trapped in a small, mid-western town with a dark secret. The town is populated by only children who belong to a cult. The couple must flee the town before the children sacrifice them to their demonic "God."

Sinister (2012)

When a washed up true crime writer finds tapes of a family's murder, he decides to solve the mystery by moving his family to their former home. When old film footage suggests a supernatural force, he realizes that the home may be deadly.

Evil Dead (1981)

While hiking, Ashley "Ash" Williams and friends stumble upon a book that, when read aloud, awakens the dead. When they accidentally release a flood of evil, they must fight for their lives, or become of the evil dead themselves.

Child's Play (1988)

A dying murderer uses black magic to place his soul inside of a doll named Chucky. When the doll kills a young boy's babysitter, his mother must convince the detective of Chucky's true intentions before it is too late.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.
