In the past couple of years, there have been many new fashions, trends, and other things that have become very popular to a large crowd of people. Horoscopes, zodiac signs, and fortunes being some of them. Many of my friends and I check our horoscopes every day, whether it be on Cosmopolitan section of Snapchat, or the Daily Horoscope app on the iPhone, we are constantly reading our horoscopes to one another and bickering about how it related to our current life. All of this hype got me thinking, is it really telling the truth? How does this all work? So I did some research on the matter and here is what I found.

Astrology is the study of the stars based on religion and science. Some of the earliest humans would attempt to relate their lives, and other factors of life to the stars in the sky. The belief is that the alignment of the stars and the moon affects how people born at different times feel and the path of their life. The astrological system is based on weather and seasons. These people soon realized that the weather, and formation of the stars, affected people's lives in different ways. From what I have read, astrology is about going through the parallel of the season, weather pattern, and the stars alignment with the planets, and they take these signs to create ways in how it can affect each zodiac's personal life.

Horoscopes are very fun to read and relate to your life, but it depends on where your source is if you want it to be completely true. If you are reading from a newspaper, it is most likely to be just something they make up. The most accurate reading you could get is most likely if you were to read an astrology chart. This shows you when the stars align, the exact time you were born, what part of the world, and how everything can affect your personality and path of life.

The best way to have an accurate reading, is getting read by a professional. Professional astrologers can read you your strengths, abilities, and weaknesses, based on your birth date, place, and time.

Although, horoscopes online may be wrong, they are often relatable and fun to read. It's nice to wake up and look forward to what your daily horoscope says about the day ahead of you, but if you want a professional one done, look into an astrologer.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
