Hopes I Have For My Future Self

Every single day I am growing and learning. I am loving and listening. Most of all, I am trying to create the best future self I can be. It's hard sometimes to wrap my head around the idea that in time I will be considered the shell of the person I used to be. Closing and opening chapters in my life is a pretty daunting task, and I often catch myself thinking about what my life will be like 10, 20, or 50 years from now. I have so many unanswered questions and troubling worries that keep me up at night, but for the most part I have hopes for my future self. So, here it goes...

Future me, I hope you stay humble and sweet. I hope life doesn't make you too rough around your edges that you end up hurting others. I hope you hug and laugh often. I hope your character is one that others can and will admire. I hope you never forget who you are, who you once was, and who you aspire to be.

Future me, I hope you love with your whole heart. I hope that you will radiate compassion every way you go. I hope that you will always care for your self worth. I hope you continue to love even when your heart aches with great pain. I hope you remain insanely passionate.

Future me, I hope you live, and live well. I hope you travel to incredible places. I hope you get scared and take the risk anyway. I hope you meet, lose, love, and hate people along the way. I hope you take care of yourself. I hope you never lose your way home. I hope you never take one day for granted.

Future me, I hope you are still capable and aware of your strength. I hope you get back up regardless of how many times you fell down and failed. I hope you have the courage to walk away from negativity. I hope you never believe that you are irreversibly damaged. I hope you get out of bed every morning. I hope you are strong enough to carry yourself without needing the help of others.

Future me, I hope you overcome your worst fears. I hope you let go of unneeded pain. I hope you learn to depend on yourself only. I hope you won't be afraid to fall in love with someone someday. I hope you take those scary chances. I hope you always go after what you want no matter the consequence.

Future me, I hope you hope. I hope you never stop chasing and running after your dreams. I hope you never see the glass as half empty. I hope you don't give up on the world. I hope you see the best in others, no matter how difficult. I hope you believe in everything you set your mind to. I hope you never throw in the towel, no matter how hopeless life may seem.

Future me, I hope you are like me, but better.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
