I hope you...

Find someone who will help lead you closer to Jesus, not further from him.

Find someone who will show you the love of Jesus even on days when it is hard.

Find someone who has given their heart completely to Jesus.

Find someone who will always be there and never give up on you.

Find someone who will tell you how they really feel and not play games with your feelings.

Find someone who is strong and capable of loving you.

Find someone who will never let you go to bed feeling unworthy or unloved.

Find someone who isn’t afraid to show you their heart.

Find someone who will wrap their arms around you when you feel broken.

Find someone who doesn’t want you for just your body, but your heart.

Find someone who knows when something is wrong simply by the tone of your voice.

Find someone who makes you feel safe.

Find someone who will love everything about you.

But, what we really want is to find someone who will stay…

We want someone to accept us as we are… but someone already does…

God accepts us as we are and where we are.

We get so caught up in finding someone with all of these qualities, hoping they would satisfy that void in our hearts. We get lost in the idea of someone. We feel like we can change that other person, but we can’t. We get lost looking for someone or something to fill a void that only God can truly fill.

Why do you keep chasing after that boy like he is more important? Why do keep placing your relationship with him above your relationship with Christ? What good does any of that do? Is your whole life wrapped up in him or Christ?

I have asked myself these questions and each time they have kicked me in the face... I hope you find someone who loves Jesus, but I hope you will too. During this waiting time, fall in love with Jesus. Give your life to him. Give your heart to him. It will be safe in His hands.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
