Each of us goes through life planning and anticipating.
We set goals, have dreams and make plans to accomplish or fulfill our desires. We give ourselves a deadline or time frame to make them happen, and we hope that we are successful.
But as most of us have realized, nothing is guaranteed.
We are never promised to see the day where all of our hopes and dreams become a reality. Literally, we could die tomorrow and leave our bucket list incomplete. However, that harsh truth doesn't stop us from hoping and planning.
I think it's safe to say that none of us would plan or anticipate our futures if we did not have reason to believe that success was possible. None of us like to fail, or be set up for failure. Therefore, we try our best to learn to trust the circumstances, and we hope for the best.
Hoping for the best can cause us to create expectations—realistic or unrealistic ones. But besides having personal expectations that need to be met, we expect the plan to go accordingly, or the way we had in our minds.
I'm writing this as a reminder that,
God's plan will always prevail.
According to his will, his way.
Sure, we can tell ourselves that we know how things are supposed to go, but in all truth, only the Author of our lives knows the story he has written for us to live.
There are so many variations of the phrase, "Everything happens for a reason", but that is one of the most reassuring and easiest things to accept. To believe that all things are connected. That all things work for a greater good. That each of us have a purpose, that can't be taken away. That whatever or whoever was meant for us will never pass us by.
How we react to variations in our plans controls how we act towards making new ones. Some people can view change as a sign of failure while others view it as a blessing in disguise...
I choose to trust change.
I trust that God knows best, definitely better than I do, so if something unexpected causes a change to my way then it must be that way.
Of course, I hope that my way and God's way align, but if that's not the case then I know that most importantly, I have to trust his way.
