I didn't choose the nerd life, the nerd life chose me.

5 Reasons You Should Join The Honors College At Towson University

One of the main reasons I decided to go to Towson was because of the Honors College. As high school seniors are in the process of making their college decisions, I thought it would be a good time to make an article of why you should join the Honors College. Although this list specifically applies to Towson, I'm sure some of these are true about Honors Colleges at other schools.

1. Nice housing

Repeat after me: OWN BATHROOM. Well yeah I have to share with my roommate, but NO COMMUNAL BATHROOMS. Other perks of living in Douglass include two quiet lounges and a community lounge on each floor, two decently sized closets, living nearby Panda Express, but for real though the bathroom is really nice. Yeah you can live in Douglass or the other dorms in West Village without being in the Honors College, but what makes it worth being in HC is...

2. Scholarship

My friends who live outside of West Village are like "Your dorms are nicer but you have to pay $600 more per semester!" To which I respond "Jokes on you because Honors College gives me a scholarship so in reality I'm paying $2,150 less a semester!" So you get to live in Douglass and have less to pay!

3. Smaller class size

Instead of a huge lecture where your professor has no idea who you are, my English class has maybe 20 people. Therefore, we are able to have more personal relationships with our professors and get the most out of our classes.

4. Early class registration

There is nothing worse than trying to make a schedule when all of your classes are filled up. However, if you're in the Honors College, you get to register before everyone else, and so it's not really a problem!

5. Strong community

Although Towson is big, the Honors College makes it a whole lot smaller. With a bunch of us living in Douglass and taking the same classes, we all become pretty close. I love being in the Honors College and you all should join it!

It's finally flu season! It's around that time in the school year where everyone on campus is getting sick, especially if they live in the dorms. It's hard to take care of yourself while being sick at school, but here are some coping mechanisms to get you on the path to feeling better!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
