Mmmm... How Sweet!
A sweet, sticky, treat made by bees, but did you know how much a little bit of honey can help you on an everyday basis? Well here's a couple of things that honey can magically do!
1. Soothe A Sore Throat
Ahh yes, as the cold weather approaches people begin to get sick left and right. The most common is a sore throat and coughing. Next time your throats feeling irritated, try drinking a hot cup of tea with some organic honey in it (makes the tea taste better too). You can even take one whole tablespoon of honey. There's no limit to how much honey you can take, I mean come on... it won't hurt!
2. Soft Glowing Skin
Since I mentioned that it's starting to get cold outside, our skin is going to be adjusting to this weather too. For the most part, it will start to get really dry and cracked. Instead of doubling up on the moisturizer, try exfoliating with honey and brown sugar mixed together. Once you put it on your face, it will eliminate all of the dead skin cells. Don't want to exfoliate? No problem. Just apply regular honey on your face and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes. This will help fade any dark marks, eliminate undereye shadows and also help acne. I'm not saying it will work overnight, but you will see a difference the next morning! Voilà ! Beautiful soft skin in 5 minutes.
3. Shiny Healthy Hair
Hair looking dull? Well you know what to do! Add some honey into your daily conditioning routine, or even deep conditioning routine. Once you have your honey and conditioner in your hair, let it sit for 10 minutes then wash it out.
4. Asthma & Allergies
Ever had an allergic reaction? Or know someone with asthma? Well here is a little trick when either asthma or allergies are triggered.
For Asthma: If your asthma is triggered and you've already taken your pump but you still feel like it isn't helping or if you've left your asthma pump somewhere, put honey in a warm facecloth and breath it in. Breathing in through the mouth and out through the nose.
For Allergic Reactions: You can do the same thing as asthma, put honey in a warm/hot facecloth and cover the mouth to breathe in and then breathe out through the nose.
This helps opening up your air passages. You never know when you may need to save a life with some honey! (Personal Experience)
5. Healing
Take the natural route next time you get a mild cut or a burn. Put honey on any sore, cut, rash or burn to help it heal quicker! Save the ointment for something much more severe. In the meantime, honey is the way to go !
