Finally, midterms are over with and a extremely needed break from school can begin. Most college students can agree that spring break is essential to our mental health, after weeks of stressful work we are definitely ready to chill out and relax. While spring break is a time in which thousands of college students across the nation pack their bags, get in a car and drive away, that is not to say you can't have a great time from the comfort of your hometown. The short list provided below overs great ways to make a vacation out of your time back home.
1. Check out local restaurants that you've never tried.
This is a great way to expand your horizons. Trying out local restaurants will show you a side of your hometown you'v never seen. Apps like Yelp are a great resource to find the hidden gems of your area and enjoy some good food. Bon Appetite!
2. Take this time to read a book that's not for school.
I know what you're thinking. After weeks of reading and reading you probably don't want to see a book any time soon, but reading is a great way to relax and wind. There are tons of great novels and books out there that will allow you to travel from the comfort of your couch.
3. Take day trips!
Just because you're not going on a week long trip to some far away place does not mean you cant be a tourist in your own special way. Day trips are a great way to see another side of your state. If you use the internet wisely, you are bound to find awesome places not too far from where you live. So get a group of friends, make a bunch of sandwiches, make sure to grab an aux cord and go enjoy!
P.S. I strongly recommend this website.
4. It's bath time!
Baths may seem somewhat childish but in fact they are essential to surviving adult life. Whether you're a bath bomb fanatic or not, baths are bound to help you feel like you're on the vacation you deserve.
5. If all else fails...Netflix!
Spring break is a great time to watch up with your favorite shows and watch new movies. This is the opportunity you've been waiting for to binge everything that's been on your list since the end of winter break. Also, now that you're back home you can invite a bunch of friends over and have a movie night!
