Longing for home.

I am pretty sure you have heard this phrase more than once before and especially when it comes to the holidays, but have you ever stopped and and actually gave it some though to it's meaning? Home is where the heart is.

It only took me to be two months away from "home" to know what this saying is trying to say.

Those sleepless nights when everything seemed to be going wrong and just feeling the need to hug my mom, dad, or a close friend. Those nights are what makes this have a meaning. There is nobody that will ever understand and tolerate you just the way you are other than the people that have been there for and with you through the laughter and through the tears. Those that you call when you are in urgent need of advice. Those are your people.

Your people are the magnets to your heart and the longer you are away from them, the stronger the bond becomes. Many times we take these special people for granted to quickly realize that they are so much more worth than we hadn't acknowledge them to be. These people are willing to do anything for you no matter what or how long it takes.

Appreciate and love these people, not only this season, but year round. That strong feeling you feel of needing one of their hugs will one day not be fulfilled. Enjoy it while you can and really savor it. Overload your heart with beautiful feelings and let it dance in joy of the gathering that it had been longing for. Home is where the heart is! <3

morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
