A boy showing his friend his injured shoulder after falling on the ground while playing football. (Picture taken during Homecoming week in 2015 at Mississippi Valley State University).
The memory of photography is something that should be preserved. The first time I showed this picture to a couple of friends, I had each one of them came up with a different thing about was happening with the two boys, but only I knew what had happened for sure. The memory I had attached to the photograph was different than what they were seeing, and that did not matter.
What I love the most about photography is that pictures speak for themselves, they tell a story, even if it is a different one to every person who chooses to "read" it.
Reminder: be safe while having fun during homecoming week!
