Spring Break. A time of rest, relaxation, fun and family for a week. For some, a fun, crazy getaway to the beautiful Baha or Mexico to bask in the hot sun and drink pina colada's until they can't stand the taste of coconut. For others, maybe it is an alternate Spring Break trip with an organization such as habitat for humanity giving back and building houses for the less fortunate. Lastly, for others, the long-awaited trip home to spend time with friends and family at home. It is a time to get away from your new home, school, and take time for some fun.
I never really understood the phrase "home is where the heart is" until I felt it. Going to college, you struggle at the beginning because you may be in a new state and with people you don't know very well but that takes a quick 360-degree turn. The new state becomes your home and the people you are surrounded with become your family.
No matter where you are in the world you know that, at the end of the week, you are going back to your new home, the college of your choice. Although your hometown and where your family is will always be home #1, if you are with the right people, you make your own little family and with that becomes a second home.
