When I first opened my eyes yet fingers curled.
In my mother’s lap, I smelled the world,
Grandma, father, and brother welcomed me
The iron door, and glass windows could it be.
All around me so is my home—
Blooming happiness and showering blessings in my home.
Played with siblings, me with no toys
They were my friends so million joys!
Chasing around with pillows, and laughter
Would lose this game their oldest daughter.
Soon to mature as I grew older
They hit me more on my shoulder.
I dreamed to fly across the sea
Life was broken so I had to flee…
My brother flew to the land of strangers
Awaited for him--untold adventures.
In the chest of sea. Dad’s boat fled
Now in my town, living souls were dead!
Now more doors of my home had hanging locks.
At my schools, they threw rocks.
I flew to my dreamland, now emptier is home:
Mother’s joy shattered as gray foam!
Little brother now rode across the border.
Mom’s wrinkles grew older and older!
Her tears sow seeds of entangled woes,
Losing her family, she well knows.
Our glittering sky-touching home cost nothing--
The cost of emptiness and gone beloved is nothing!…
Mom and sister fled dad’s built home
Immigrating back to homeland in search of home!...
No home I have and none of us do…
Scattered around continents like tourists.
Like birds we fly and build our nests.
Hope we own our home again
Where we pillow fight, laugh, and mom feeds us.
And dad brings us treats of love, and joy! ...
