Mid-season finales in a television show are the ultimate pain. They are cliff hangers that will have you on the edge of your seats until the show returns. Most of the time when the show comes back on the wait is finally over right? Well not when you are watching a Shonda Rhimes show! How could the same woman that brought us The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement leave us hanging with too many questions when it came to our Thursday night powerhouse of leading women?
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
Grey's Anatomy:
So many unanswered questions, and so many possible theories! The episode starts off with Robbins, Wilson, and Bailey in a car on their way to a patient, one that can't come to them. The episode is really an eye opener, not only about the life in which it shows on the episode, but in the way these three women handle the situation they are in. At the end of the episode the three women are leaving their location when Bailey breaks the news of Alex's situation to Robbins with Wilson in the backseat. Wilson at first refused to listen, but Robbins pushed through. After getting the news she becomes sick.
Where were the other Grey Sloan family members for the comeback? How did Mer react to what Alex did? Why did Jo throw up, is she really that upset or is she pregnant? How does Deluca feel about this? What about Riggs? What about Owen?!
Come on Shonda we have been by your side for almost 13 seasons now!!! Give us a little more next show, my heart can't handle these unanswered questions.
Scandal:
Holy president! Mellie Grant is so very close to having to having the presidency or is it that Olivia Pope is so close to being back in the White House. The show starts in true Shonda fashion with an explosion and a worried woman. It looks like Olivia won't be getting the oval after all. Sorry Mellie and sorry Hillary, after all, there had to be a reason that the poster above says Jan 19 but the shows were postponed until the following week. This episode would have been an awful one to air right after the real life presidential events. I wonder if Hill acted the same way Mel did when she found out that she didn't get her spot in the oval.
Where did Jake disappear to after he found out that he wasn't the new VP? Olivia was so sure that it was Cyrus until she saw him in the hospital, why did she doubt herself when she knows how ruthless he can be? Will Cyrus uphold his promise to Fitz?
Also in true Shonda fashion, there is no time for being petty before murder or some short gets added to the political agenda, and it seems like there is room for two on the menu. A charbroiled hand in a bag, hundreds of tips flooding the web, betrayal and did someone finally pop the question?
How To Get Away With Murder:
Could this be Annalise's final hour? Was it a crime of passion or a crime of jealousy? HTGAWM has come a long way, but this is a episode we never thought we would see. Wes is dead, there will mostly likely be flashbacks of him, but dead is dead and there is no coming back. Annalise is booked in jail and is having a hard time with it. She won't leave her cell's bed except for the one time that she really really had to go and she also had a visitor. Bonnie is doing her best between both Annalise and Laurel. It only takes one sentence from his former lover to send Frank right over the edge and when Nate is caught meeting Annalise without permission, he uses sexual harassment to save himself.
Will Annalise be in jail for the rest of the season? Did Frank really mean what he said? With them looking into Rebecca and Sam's death, is the whole team in danger? What is Hannah Keating going to do? Has Annalise made a new friend to help her with her new situation?
