It's that time of year again! Whether you need to fly thousands of miles, or just drive 30 minutes, we can almost all agree that traveling can be the pits over the holidays. College students are one of the many travelers every year flooding airports, train stations, and highways, trying to get home to our families for Thanksgiving or winter break. We've almost all experienced the sucky side of traveling, or even just those little uncomfortable moments that, over the holidays, are amplified by hoards of people in the same situation as us. This year, for Thanksgiving, I'd like to express my gratitude to the hit television series Shameless for getting me through the tougher days of college, making me laugh, making me cry, and giving me something to obsess over with my long distance friends. So here it is - Holiday Traveling as told by Shameless.
Thinking you can find inexpensive flights on Kayak.com, and realizing that - nope - they are all hundreds-of-dollars expensive
Trying to give yourself motivation when you're mentally exhausted
Waiting until the hour before your trip to start packing and knowing you did a sh*t job
When your uber cost more than you thought it would
Sitting at a different airport gate because all the seats at your gate are taken
When they tell you that you can't use your phone during the flight
The annoying overly friendly stranger sitting next to you on the plane
When you hit traffic and you thought you were immune because it wasn't rush hour
Waiting in line for security
We all know that dreaded feeling when you realize you might have to pee on the plane.
Walking off the plane when it landed early
Realizing you'll have to do this all over again when you go back to school.
