As the holiday season comes around once again, we are reminded that it's not about the spirit of giving, or loving one another. It's, of course, all about money!
Every big corporation seems to try to implement festive elements into their products and advertising to try to harp on the festive feelings of everyday people. Some are wins, some are fails.
Let's take a gander at a few.
1.) Coca-Cola Christmas Bow Bottles
Coke, for the longest time, has always been right in the holiday advertising game, from those cool Polar Bears, to literally streamlining Santa as we know him into American culture through a commercial.
This year they implemented a cute little design into their plastic bottles, where if you pull on the end of the label, it crumples itself into a little bow. Takes your mind off the teeth-rotting syrup you're consuming. Sorry, what?
2.) The McDonald's Mitten Cup
Oh, Mickey D's. When will you learn?
This year, ala Starbucks, McDonald's got some flack for their new holiday cup, featuring some harmless mittens with "Warmest Greetings" on the front. What's the big deal?
Well, some tricksters took that image and drew hands to make it seem like it was a, well, cheeky holiday if you will.
Corporations really need to just make their cups a solid, plain red to avoid criticism. Oh, wait.....
