Everybody can relate to the feeling of getting into the holiday spirit too early. You already did Secret Santa exchanges with your friends, you bought presents for your family and wrapped them up, and you broke out your Christmas sweaters. You’re ready to go. But you still have finals week to get through.

Here's how the "How I Met Your Mother" characters explained what it’s like to get a little too festive a little too early:

1. When you see the first snowflake fall from the sky

2. When the streets are lined with decorated trees and every house has pretty lights up

3. But then you think about how you still have a bunch of exams to take before you can fully enjoy the winter

4. When the forecast says it will snow that perfect amount where it’s not a burden to clean up but just enough to make the neighborhood pretty but then it doesn’t snow at all

5. When you jam out to Christmas music but then realize you have a week of school left

6. You sit there daydreaming of that first hug when you reunite with a loved one

7. You think of all that you would do to go home right now

8. When you look at your calendar, counting down days like
