Dear Holiday Shoppers,
It's that time again. Time to prepare for family gatherings and having company over. I understand that the holidays can be a stressful time, but please keep in mind that this stress applies to all of us. First of all, please don't rush me. I understand that I am probably only one of your several stops while picking up presents and groceries for your loved ones, but let's have just a little ounce of patience please. While I do care about helping you with everything you need, I also have a line of customers out the door that also need waited on. Whether you are in the front of the line or the back of the line please go easy on me. While waiting is certainly not ideal in such a stressful and busy time, it is bound to happen when everyone and their grandma is trying to find the perfect gift. Perhaps try taking a deep breath and maybe smiling here and there so I know I'm not totally screwing up. Please understand that I too am going crazy. Not only do I have to run around in anticipation of the holidays, I also have to spend 40 hours this week behind the counter. By the time I get home from work it is hard to find the motivation to check things off my list only to wake up the next morning and do it all again. With all of that being said, I would like to also say thank you. The holidays are a wonderful time aside from all of the craziness, and I loved getting to help out. I loved to hear your stories and holiday traditions. I seriously enjoyed hearing the gifts you got for the lovely people in your life and why. I loved to be genuinely wished a "Merry Christmas!" or "Happy Holidays!". I hope, if even in a small way, that I have done something to make your holiday season a little less hectic and maybe even managed to put a smile on your face. Now that Christmas is over, maybe we can all finally get a long overdue chance to breathe. No more lines out the door every single day, no more opening early or staying open late, no more 8 hour shifts of listening to the same 10 Christmas songs. Be safe, and have a happy and healthy New Year! See you for Valentine's Day!
Sincerely,
A Tired but Thankful Member of the Workforce
