"Holiday In Handcuffs" Guide To Not Being Single This Holiday Season

25 Days of Christmas is one of the things that I look forward to every Holiday Season. Buddy the Elf spreading Christmas cheer, Kevin McCallister’s patience (or lack of) with the overwhelming amount of family crammed into one room of the house (and how dare someone eat the last piece of plain pizza?) The Griswold’s showing us the true art of Christmas decorating, and of course, Trudie displaying actual refusal to be alone this holiday season. Here's her five step guide to getting yourself a man for the holidays!

1. Hold Him At Gunpoint

Who can resist a woman in a pink dress, and antlers?

2. Rock A Fro'

We all try to look our best. We straighten our hair, perfect our makeup, and put on a cute outfit. Regardless If we're dressing for ourselves or to impress, maybe this year's holiday hair style must is the fro'.

3. Maybe Add Some Antlers

If the afro wasn't enough, antlers... or better yet a Santa hat may do it.

4. Blindfold Him

It adds excitement and anticipation. If you're looking to give off the whole mysterious woman vibe, a hand-woven blindfold is definitely a must!

5. Cook A Really Nice Dinner

Who doesn't love a home-cooked meal? A romantic candlelit dinner? Since the holidays can get stressful, and we're all busy with Christmas shopping, and work deadlines, warm leftover Chinese food will win over his heart for sure.

So many people worry about being alone during the holidays. Not having someone to watch Christmas movies with, take cute Instagram pictures with in New York City, or not having anyone to bring home to meet the family. And while all these things are nice, a perfectly filtered Instagram with 102 likes, is not what the holiday season is about. While it is about love, it's not necessary that you're wrapped around someone else's arm until New Years. The right guy will come along, enjoy the holidays, and if you have to hold him at gunpoint.... you're probably doing it wrong (and are probably the one who should be in handcuffs.)

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
