Personally, the closer I get to the end of each and every fall semester, the closer I get to losing my sanity...
& by that, I think we can all agree that it is easy to get caught up in the chaos that the beginning of a year brings, and become overly wrapped up in whatever our lives are centered around momentarily.
However, if there is one thing I've learned to be of utmost importance over winter breaks as we get older, it is to take time to give yourself a "mental break" and focus on your needs.
Take time to sleep in, binge-watch a Netflix show while eating your favorite ice cream ~pint~ and focus on your needs!! With the craziness and chaos that the year brings, we often do not have time to do things for ourselves as much as we need.
Self-care is obviously so important and we are all well aware of that, but it is easy to run out of time or not prioritize the act of doing so on a regular basis, for most.
Essentially, just be sure to take care of yourself extremely well and make sure that you give yourself this time to be calm and do things for you.
Some of these self-care tips may be as simple as going to grab lunch with an old friend, doing a face mask, or even sleeping in, but they really do make such an impact and are so essential for own well being.
So, next time you go home for break, remember to take into consideration the fact that this time off is time for you to get your mental health and your all-around self together. Breaks are such an important time to take time for YOU, so keep that in mind, next time you have one and claim to be "bored", etc.
