My Holiday Break Plans While Being Home From School

It's so nice to have a full month off from school

My Holiday Break Plans While Being Home From School

Back in my grade school days, I only had about 2 weeks for winter break which was a nice bit of time off, but it went by too fast. Now that I'm in college and I have about a full month off from school, which gives me more time to do things I have planned over break. Here are some of my top activities I plan on doing while being home for break:

1. Going Christmas Shopping

While I was away for school, a new shopping center opened up behind my house which features a Wegman's, a Dick's Sporting Goods and a Field and Stream. I can't wait to shop at these places and take advantage of how close they are to my house.

2. Working as much as possible over break

Being home for a month allows me to get back to work enabling me to make money to recover from all the money I've spent on food and clothing from first semester so I can spend money next semester.

3. Enjoying my moms home cooking

It's honestly been too long not eating any meals cooked by my mom. I'm glad to miss the dining hall food for a whole month and enjoy some of Mom's amazing home cooking.

4. Hang out with my Friends from High School

I haven't been back to my high school since graduation but I plan on being back over my break mainly to say thank you for everyone that's helped me over the years

5. Getting away for a vacation

I cannot wait to have another trip to the wonderful Homestead Resort right before I go back to school to start my spring semester. This should be a relaxing trip as well as allowing me to reflect on my first semester in college.

6. Watching Bowl Games

This time of the year is the best time to be a college football fan since there will be 42 bowl games happening over a 2 week time span with most of them being exciting to watch.

7. Spending quality time with my family

This is the best part of winter break because I have a whole month to spend with my family as well as go on a vacation with them and getting to hang out together while i'm home.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
