1. Binge-watch your favorite Netflix/Hulu show

Binge watching Netflix or Hulu may seem like a horrible idea but think of all the hours your brain spent working or studying? YOU NEED TO VEG OUT DUDE. it's okay to be a zombie for a little bit. Maybe even a whole day!

2. Go visit your local animal shelter

You're alone, they're alone; so why not be alone together? I got my dog Charlie the first Christmas I didn't go home and it was the best decision I have ever made. I was very nervous to be a dog mom, but I had talked about it for MONTHS and knew I just needed to make the leap and go. I will forever be thankful for getting my little stinker, even though it was with an ex. We loved our little dude so much, but now he gets tons of loving from his momma. Dogs and cats have a way of loving us that no human can.

3.  Bake

It sounds like the most boring thing in the entire world, but it's really fun! You can make anything you want from a cake, cupcakes, brownies, ANYTHING. I am a sucker for any baking show as well, so I put them on and bake along with them! I am not a professional by any means, sometimes I don't even know if it comes out edible but I try my hardest and just have fun. PSA: Don't do this while drinking, it will get a bit rough and you may or may not burn yourself....not that i have done this.

4. NAP

Lazy? Yes, very. Good for you? Also a yes, and you know what YOU DESERVE IT. Even if you had an easy finals week or things are that rough for you right now, take the nap of your life. Dream those impossible dreams and just live for the moment. This may be your only time to catch up on the sleep you've been craving since school began in August, TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE, PEOPLE.

5. Treat Yo Self

Go and take yourself Black Friday shopping, that's my plan. I may not be buying a super cool new Playstation, but I'm pretty pumped to have my eyes set on the Buzzfeed Tasty Cooking collection at Walmart. (Mainly because it's only $99 and it comes with a Google Home.) You best believe I will be saying "Hey Google," like it's my day job. I just love to go out and shop even if I don't buy anything. Going "Black Friday" shopping just to people watch will get me out of my apartment for a bit and get me the social interaction I need.

6. Clean out your closet.

I love doing this to be completely honest with you, it's just fun to me. I love finding new combinations for outfits to wear out or even just trying my pageant dresses on to feel good. Cleaning your closet out opens up more space for you to reinvent your look an purchase some new clothing items to make your mark with.

7. Read a good book

Cozy up with your favorite blanket, make some hot chocolate, and turn on some soft music. It's time to open up a new book and get lost in a different world. I love having a peaceful place to read and get cozy. It's the only time you may have to open a book you actually want to read that isn't a text book. Take advantage, get comfy.

8. Call home

It's simple. I am almost 1000% honest when I say that they miss you too. They are equally as bummed out to be celebrating the holidays without you at home with them. I think telling my family I wasn't going home for Thanksgiving was the toughest because it also happens to be my brother's birthday. I could hear the hurt in his voice when I said I was staying in North Dakota and not making the journey to Louisiana. I will be calling home more than once over this Thanksgiving weekend simply because I am very close to my family and I will need to update them on every bite of food I take.

9. Make a dream board for 2019

It's never too early to set your goals or dreams for the new year. I can almost hear my name being announced as Miss North Dakota 2019 and I love it. I have such big goals and dreams set for 2019 and I am ready to CRUSH them all. I have my 2018 dream board set up in my bathroom where I can see it so I know exactly what I need to accomplish.

10. Wear pajamas ALL DAY

Name one person who will stop you. Exactly. DO IT. Pajamas are life and it's okay to wear them all day long. Best part of not celebrating the holidays at home; not having to look nice just to be inside all day! You can wear footie pajamas all day if you want, or even a nightgown. You choose. Having the freedom to lounge around in pjs all day really is a Christmas Miracle.
