For the past four years we were "Young and Hopeless" waiting for Good Charlotte to put out more music. "Emotionless," we waited, replaying "Anthems" such as "I Just Wanna Live" and "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl". If Good Charlotte embodied the "Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous," we could only ask ourselves why they couldn't seem to put out more hits?
But "We Believed," and as of November 12th, 2015 Good Charlotte rose from their four year hiatus and put out the music video for their new single "Makeshift Love." And it is everything a long time fan could have hoped for.
Including sound snippets from Apple's I-messaging, "Makeshift Love" seems to focus on a Breakup App run by the band members. A partner who desires to breakup with a lover just has to send a text and Good Charlotte takes care of the rest for them!
Could this be Good Charlotte's nod to technology's role in the lack of personalization in today's relationships? Or is it just the opportunity to show that Good Charlotte is still hip to the times even though they seem as though they've been gone forever?
Either way, the fact that a new Good Charlotte song is out combined with their upcoming UK tour with All Time Low makes my middle schooler heart very, very happy.
